The team at Metric Fencing are proud to announce our 2x Finalist achievements for the 2020 Australian Fencing Awards! The awards celebrate innovation and excellence in the fencing industry and recognise the people and businesses behind these projects across Australia. Metric Fencing is the only company from WA to be nominated as a finalist and we couldn’t be more excited to share our results!

Our recognition earned us a finalist position in the category for “Innovation & Excellence in Residential Fencing” for our work on Powder-Coated Fencing for a client in Perth. The project utilised aluminium and COLORBOND® steel Monument® to fulfil the client’s proposal for a modern, trendy look. We manufactured and installed the fencing to achieve a sleek, radiator-style fence.

The second category we were nominated for and became a finalist in was the “Innovation & Excellence in COLORBOND® Steel Fencing” award. The Boardland project in Mandurah consisted of over 100m of fencing with double fence panels along the entire length, where we were challenged with a lot of digging required for the plinths underneath. Each step of the job was executed perfectly for the customer and they were left with a quality fence that offers them privacy and reduces noise.

Having had a previous good experience with Metric, we asked Lyle to quote on our new project comprising two separate gate systems, one of which was fully automated, at an older site with some design challenges. The quote was competitive and prepared promptly (unlike two competitor quotes), with attention to detail on the design-specifics. Given the current environment, we were pleasantly surprised by the manufacturing and installation schedule which the team met. Lyle was very flexible around key design matters and worked with us throughout the process to achieve the right design solution, including quick closure of punch-list items. The installation process went very well; with a lot of care taken to ensure accuracy of the set-up, which is critical for swing-type automatic gates. We are very pleased with the final outcome in terms of gate system functionality, quality of the gate fabrication and overall design configuration.

I have installed one of the fences of metric fencing and the installation went great, however one of the aluminium slats has fallen and the welding has snapped. I called metric fencing just to ask about maintenance and repair or if they could recommend anyone they would know to repair it. To my surprise I had on the phone the most hostile person that I have encountered in customer service.However Matt the manager contacted me directly and provided us with the relevant information I was after in the first place. In 2019 I had a sliding gate and pedestrian gate both electrically powered installed in my new home by Metric fencing. The job was excellent, carried out on time, great communication and also looked fantastic. A few days ago I had a problem with power to the gates. I called Metric fencing and within a day Matt called me, discussed the problem and organised a Technician to go out and check. The problem was minor and was fixed straight away. This was done at no cost to myself even though the warranty period had finished as I was told they were in the area anyway. Well done metric fencing, I have recommended them in the past and will certainly carry on recommending them in the future.

When I first met one of the receptionist at their office, i had a contract that was very urgent and needed some specially made materials for that project. I was surprised to see the entire team plunged into action and told me to wait for half an hour as long as I have the money to pay the cost.
